Stone-milled Okumidori & Seimei, for smooth, vibrant matcha rich in umami Grown in the lush volcanic soils of Kagoshima, Kyushu – Japan’s number one tea-producing region – this premium matcha is a true rarity. Kagoshima boasts the largest area of organically cultivated tea fields in Japan, making it one of the few regions capable of producing exceptional organic matcha at scale. This unsweetened ceremonial-grade matcha is crafted from a careful blend of Okumidori and Seimei cultivars, prized for their silky smooth texture, vibrant green colour, and rich umami flavour. Shaded under natural fog and protective covers, the tea plants develop a higher concentration of amino acids, resulting in a matcha with remarkable depth and sweetness without the need for sugar. Once harvested, the tencha leaves are slowly and meticulously stone-milled in a traditional mortar, a method that preserves aroma and enhances flavour through gentle friction. The result is a matcha that is not only rich in antioxidants and calming theanine, but also exceptionally smooth on the palate.
